Jane : the details, Lydia StonelyJane is made to the highest possible toymaking standards but please note that she is an 'art' doll and aimed at collectors wishing to support British Toymaking. She isn't suitable for children under 14 years due to not being CE or UKCA marked.
Jane - close up, Lydia StonelyThe silk yarn in her hair was gifted by a traditional spinner I met there -and the wool yarn was purchased from a crafter working with natural dyeing. Her wood buttons are handcrafted by the same crafter - the Woodland Haberdasher.
Jane : sitting, Lydia StonelyAll her clothes are handmade by me too. She is wearing a gingham blouse, denim dungarees and felt boots. Tied around her neck is a wool shawl and Jane has a fair trade wicker basket too.
Jane : sitting to the side, Lydia StonelyShe has a wood shaving in her hair as the workers on the pole lathes get covered in them!
Jane : standing, Lydia StonelyJane is made from pure British sheepswool. Her face is hand scuplted and needled felted to form a cute nose and little mouth. Her face is hand embroidered and her freckles are painted using the tip of a pin.
