What your membership means
Much has changed in 50 years and Crafts is navigating inflationary pressure and the economics of print production. Our relaunch in September 2022 as a membership community has allowed you greater choice in how you engage with us online, in print and in person.
Our print magazine is at the heart of what we do and we want more people to value Crafts as much as you do. As compared to unstable sources of revenue such as sponsorship, advertising and public funding, membership is the most sustainable and regular stream of income, which is why we want our core costs to be entirely member funded by the end of 2025. This will not only give us long term security, but will mean we can invest in improving what we offer to you – our members – as the community grows. To achieve this, we need to welcome 100 new members every month from now on.
It's an ambitious goal, but with your help, we believe we can achieve it. We believe that the craft world – with its inherent focus on tangible and tactile objects that take time, care, imagination and creativity to produce – deserves a physical magazine that represents the same values.
