Maple & Sapele
Turned vessel from maple with a sapele lid. The maple comes from a tree that was felled in Peckham Rye park, south east London. The main trunk is still there and has been turned into a park bench. The tree had suffered a fungal infection deep into its trunk and it's this that gives rise to the characterful darker streaks within the grain.
The lid is made from sapele that was salvaged from an old garden bench. The rich deep wine tones complement the varied maple.
