The Arc of the Sun
The boat is made from copper & brass and patinated on the outside and supported by a brass stand. Inside the boat is a multi plain sundial with an inset compass. The sundial also supports a brass rod which holds a lodestone, a naturally occurring magnet that can be used as a compass. Rusted animal forms fill the bow & stern of the boat, each with a screw penetrating the petrified form. The animals are screwed. A piece of fused glass embedded with iron filings form an imaginary sea.
