Textile Baltimore Oriole Bird
This sculpture is made entirely by hand using sustainably sourced materials, including merino wool, silk and vintage fabrics, vintage feathers, silk threads, wood and glass eyes.
Baltimore Orioles are agile feeders that comb the high branches of trees in search of insects, flowers and fruit.
Each bird is unique. He has a needle-felted body and is hand stitched with carefully selected silks to replicate the natural colourings of the Oriole.
He stands at 10.5cm tall, and 23cm tail to beak.
