Commissioning 101

Join a discussion about commissioning furniture and gain insight into the client/designer relationship.

On Monday 19 April, join Susanna Beaumont, founder and curator of Design Exhibition Scotland and a select panel from industry on the topic of furniture commissions — from both the maker and commissioner perspective. Gain insight into the client/designer relationship through a series of short talks and audience Q&A.

This event presents an opportunity to hear from case studies from peers in the designer/maker community whilst equipping potential customers with an understanding of different routes to commission.

Panellists include Janie Morris (Morris of Portobello), Ben Dawson (Ben Dawson Design), Lewis Macleod (HAME).

This event will take place on Zoom.

A link to the meeting will be sent out 30 minutes prior to the event start. Please ensure your system is up to date and that you have the Zoom client downloaded.

This event is part of the Adjust Adapt public digital events programme, hosted by City Art Centre throughout April. Adjust Adapt was created by Scottish Furniture Makers Association in partnership with Visual Arts Scotland presented by the City Art Centre. The exhibition runs 27 March - 24 April 2021.
