Adinkra Vessels
This collection of Adinkra Vessels is inspired by my African ancestry. The Adinkra symbols originated from the Ashanti region of Ghana in west Africa. ‘Adinkra’ means ‘farewell’ and these ancient symbols were originally used in Ghana on ceremonial robes and for funerals.
My fascination with the Adinkra Symbols has led to in-depth research of their origins and meanings. There are hundreds of symbols and they all have different meanings steeped in ancient African wisdom.
